1. About This Policy

ToolSite News ("the Site") is an automated news aggregation and content generation platform. This Editorial Policy describes how content is produced, selected, and maintained on the Site. We publish this policy in the interest of transparency, so readers understand the nature, limitations, and processes behind the content they consume.

2. Content Generation Process

All articles on the Site are generated by artificial intelligence systems. The generation process works as follows:

1. Topic Selection: Articles are based on trending topics identified through Google Trends data, RSS feeds from established news sources (BBC, NPR, New York Times, Hacker News), and other publicly available signals. Topics are selected algorithmically based on trending velocity and diversity.
2. Source Content Retrieval: Where possible, the system retrieves the full text of source articles from RSS feed links to provide contextual information to the AI model. This source material is used to inform the AI's generation but is not reproduced verbatim.
3. AI Generation: The source material and topic information are provided to a large language model, which generates an original article. The model is instructed to write in a wire-service style, attribute claims to sources, and avoid emotional or dramatic language.
4. Automated Quality Checks: Generated articles undergo automated quality checks before publication, including minimum word count, presence of source attributions, section heading structure, and basic metadata completeness.
5. Publication: Articles that pass quality checks are published to the Site. No human review occurs at any stage of this process.

3. No Human Editorial Oversight

The Site does not employ human editors, journalists, or fact-checkers. Articles are published without human review. This means:

• No human evaluates the accuracy of facts presented in articles.
• No human assesses the fairness, balance, or completeness of coverage.
• No human verifies source attributions or confirms that quoted individuals actually said what is attributed to them.
• No human reviews for libel, defamation, or privacy violations prior to publication.
• No human ensures compliance with journalistic ethics or standards.

We have implemented automated content filters to reduce the likelihood of publishing clearly harmful, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate content, but these filters are not foolproof. If you encounter content on the Site that you believe is harmful, please report it through our Contact page.

4. Corrections Policy

We recognize that AI-generated content may contain errors. We maintain the following corrections process:

1. Reporting Errors: Readers may report factual errors by contacting us via our Contact page. Please include the specific article URL, a description of the error, and supporting evidence such as links to credible sources that contradict the article.
2. Review: Correction requests are reviewed on a best-effort basis. We prioritize reports that include clear evidence and are submitted in good faith.
3. Resolution: Upon confirming an error, we may take one or more of the following actions:
   • Update the article text to correct the error.
   • Append a correction notice at the top or bottom of the article stating what was corrected and when.
   • If the error is fundamental to the article's premise, add an editor's note acknowledging the issue.
   • In cases where the article as a whole is fundamentally inaccurate or misleading, remove the article entirely.
4. Timeline: We aim to review correction requests within 5 business days. However, we do not guarantee that all requests will be reviewed or that corrections will be made.
5. Transparency: When a correction is made, the article will indicate that it has been updated or corrected, along with the date of correction.

5. Article Removal and Retraction

Articles may be removed from the Site for the following reasons:

• The article is fundamentally inaccurate or misleading and cannot be adequately corrected.
• The article contains defamatory content identified through a credible complaint.
• The article infringes copyright and a valid DMCA notice has been received.
• The article violates our content standards or terms of service.
• The article is older than our retention period (currently 30 days) and is automatically removed by our content management system.

When an article is removed for editorial reasons (rather than routine cleanup), we may leave a notice at the original URL indicating that the content has been removed and the reason, where appropriate.

6. Content Standards

Our AI systems are instructed to adhere to the following content standards:

• Write in third person, avoiding second-person address.
• Attribute significant claims to named sources where possible.
• Avoid defamatory statements about identifiable individuals.
• Avoid incitement to violence, hate speech, or discrimination.
• Present facts in a neutral, wire-service style without sensationalism.
• Provide context and background for complex topics.

These standards are implemented through AI system prompts and automated post-generation checks. They are not enforced through human review.

7. Source Attribution

Articles are generated based on publicly available information from news feeds and trend data. When the AI model incorporates specific facts or claims from identifiable sources, it is instructed to attribute them. However, because the AI does not have real-time access to original source material in all cases (some news sites block automated access), attributions may be:

• Accurate reflections of source material (when the system successfully retrieved the source).
• General attributions based on the AI's training data (such as attributing a well-known fact to the relevant organization).
• Fabricated attributions (when the AI hallucinates a quote or attribution that does not exist).

Readers should not assume that any attribution in an article is accurate. We recommend verifying all attributed claims against primary sources before relying on them.

8. Article Topics and Diversity

The Site's topic selection is driven by algorithmic trend detection. We do not exercise editorial judgment in selecting which stories to cover. As a result:

• The Site may cover topics that a human editor would consider newsworthy alongside topics that would not meet traditional newsworthiness standards.
• Coverage may overrepresent certain topics, regions, or perspectives based on the biases inherent in our data sources and AI models.

9. Independence and Conflicts of Interest

The Site is operated independently. We do not accept payment for coverage, and no external party influences which topics are selected or how articles are written. The Site does not currently carry advertising, sponsored content, or affiliate links. Should any commercial relationships be established in the future, they will be clearly disclosed.
